Swami Prabhupada’s Visit
In 1975 the founding Acharya of ISKCON, His Divine Grace 75th Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada delivered his first public address in South Africa at the Shri Luxmi Narayan Temple Hall.
75th Anniversary Celebrations
✅   The Temple celebrated its 75th Anniversary in 1991. ✅   The Shaantiniketan Library was officially opened by Professor Poobalan Pillay, a representative of the Divine Life Society of South Africa. Several books on Sanathan Dharma were donated to the Temple by the Divine Life Society of South Africa. ✅   A 75th anniversary conference was also held where papers on various aspects of Sanathan Dharma were presented.
Consecration of Murthis (Deities)
The Murthis currently in the shrine were consecrated by the Late Pundits Gautamlall Shukla, H R Maharajh and R R Maharajh in February 1992.
Hosting of Visiting Scholar
In 2002 the Temple hosted Shri Brijendra Nath Mishra of Varanasi India. Sri Brijendra Nath Mishra (Kripa Vyas) had been invited to participate
At the 18th International Ramayana Conference that was held at the University of Durban-Westville from 5-7 September 2002. He is a renowned Kathakaar who was born on 31 July 1965. o His father, Manasratna Dr Pt Shree Nath Mishra is also a renowned Kathakaar who has completed several recitals all over India.
Launch of Website
The Temple officially launched its website on 9 September 2007.
Hosting of Visiting Acharya
The Shri Luxmi Narayan Temple in association with The Sanathan Dharma Sabha of South Africa and the South African Hindu Maha Sabha hosted Acharya Shri Rameshwar Dass Sharma of Mauritius from 21 April 2008 to 7 May 2008 for a series of discourses on the Ramcharitmanas (Ramayana)
